The ” Association Woka Kuma Burkina Faso ” was founded in March 2003. Its headquarters are located in Belleville, in the 7th arrondissement of the commune of Bobo Dioulasso, province of Houet, Haut Bassin region in Burkina Faso. It arose primarily from the desire to work in the field of education, especially for orphans and other children from precarious backgrounds, and has since been committed to the construction and expansion of infrastructure in schools (classrooms, sanitary facilities, libraries, playgrounds) and donations of materials (garbage cans, IT materials and stationery). The Woka Kuma Germany Association is a firm partner in this. They also contribute to the promotion and dissemination of Burkina Faso’s artistic and cultural industry in the cultural sector. This involves performing on a local, regional and international level, diversity and strengthening cultural cooperation, for example by organizing the FESTICOs ( Festival de la danse et musique traditionelle de Colsama), which is held annually.
