Traditionelles Musik- & Tanz-Festival in Colsama
FESTICO : organisiert von der Association Woka Kuma Burkina Faso. Jährlich organisiert zur Verbreitung und Darstellung burkinischer Kunst und Kultur vor Ort in Bobo Dioulasso.
Zu diesem Event unternimmt der Woka- Kuma Deutschland Verein und interessierte Freund*innen fast jedes Jahr an einer Gruppenreise, um an dem Festival dabei zu sein und vor Ort Besuche zu machen. Auch der kreative Austausch ist Thema, sowie Beteiligung am Festival durch Lange Tafel e.V. ( 2018 + 2019) oder den deutschen Dj SanGabriel ( 2020) sind teil des Programms.
FESTICO 2025:
Im Februar reiste eine kleine Delegation vom Woka-Kuma Deutschland e.V. nach Bobo-Dioulasso um dort das FESTICO zu besuchen und den Vereinsaktivitäten nachzugehen.
Vor allem konnten wir als erstes den neuen deutschen Botschafter Hr. Dietrich Becker in Ouagadougou treffen. Der Botschafter hatte kurz vorher den burkinischen Partnerverein Association Woka-Kuma in Bobo-Dioulasso kennen gelernt, und wir hatten einen bereichernden Austausch zu Vereinsaktivitäten und erhielten wertvolle Tipps zu der Idee des deutsch-burkinischen Kulturzentrums in Bobo-Dioulasso und einer Fokussierung und Professionalisierung unserer Aktivitäten.
Das FESTICO, Festival der traditionellen Musik und Tanz aus Colsama, fand vom 14.-16.02. Statt. Insgesamt 15 Gruppen aus Bobo-Dioulasso traten über zwei Tage lang auf, es waren zahlreiche Autoritäten wie der traditionelle Chef aus dem Viertel und der Bezirksbürgermeister waren vor Ort, auf dem neuen Gelände hinter dem Conseil Regional, Parc Baba Taoré. Für unseren Partnerverein war es weiterhin viel Arbeit, alle Sponsoren verbindlich zu gewinnen und die Kosten abzudecken, aber es gelang letztendlich gut eine erfolgreiche Ausgabe mit vielen Besucher*innen auf die Beine zu stellen. Dies ist nun mehr auch die letzte Ausgabe vor 2027, da das Festival in einen zweijährigen Rhythmus einsetzt. Kulturaustausch : Dieses Jahr waren wir besonders froh, denn wir konnten einen deutsch – burkinischen Kultur Austausch auch zum Festico herstellen : der deutsche Musiker Johannes Lauer reiste mit uns für eine Woche nach Bobo Dioulasso um sich dort mir Djeli Karim und Band sowie dem Balafonist Kalifa Diabaté zu treffen und gemeinsam Musik zu machen sowie auf der Bühne des Festicos vorzuführen. Es war ein spannender Austausch von tradtionellen Instrumente, Balafon und Djembé und der Posaune auf der Bühne, und wir danken Johannes, dass er mitgekommen ist, sowie dem Goethe Institut, durch dessen Förderung Herr Lauer reisen konnte.
FESTICO 2024:
Delegationsreise nach Burkina Faso 2024
Vom 25.02. bis 10.03. fuhren insgesamt 4+1 Vereinsmitglieder ( Heike Schaaf, Nora Palm, Christoph Koch, Aziz Sinka +1 ) nach Bobo Dioulasso um das Partnerfestival FESTICO und unsere Kooperationspartner vor Ort zu besuchen.
Wir hatten alle zusammen eine gute Zeit und konnten einigen Vereinsaktivitäten nachgehen
Kulturfestival FESTICO 01.03.-02.03.
Wie jedes Mal fand das Kulturfestival im Arrondissement Nr. 7 / Belleville statt. Zwei Tage voller Konzerte, Aufführungen, Performances belebten den dafür eingerichteten Platz, die Sitze waren voll mit Menschen aus dem Viertel vor allem viele junge Menschen und Kinder waren gespannt darauf, ihre Lieblingsmusiker*innen live zu sehen. Es waren einige eingeladenen Autoritäten wie der traditionelle Chefs des Viertels, der Bezirksbürgermeister und der Oberbürgermeister und ein Vertreter des Kulturministeriums anwesend, die am ersten Abend mit Dankesreden und Grüßen das Wort ergriffen. Highlight waren die Auftritte von Rama N’goni und Faity Baby, die beide jeweils auch schonmal in Berlin zum Woka-Kuma Festival dabei waren. Wir können dem Organisationsteam des Woka-Kuma Burkina Faso Vereins nur gratulieren zu diesem schönen und wichtigem Festival. Denn obgleich wie in den Reden und den Medien der Autoritäten so oft erwähnt, das Land mit Krieg, Sicherheitsproblemen und einer angespannten politische Lage herausgefordert ist, geht es umso mehr darum die Bevölkerung und die Binnengeflüchteten in ihrem sozialen Zusammenhalt zu stärken.
Fussballturnier Belleville Cup 2024 02.03. und 03.03. 2024
Am 02.03. und 03.03. konnten insgesamt 6 Mannschaften von Jugendlichen aus den verschiedenen Quartiers der Stadt bei der vierten Ausgabe des „Belleville-Cup“ gegeneinander antreten. Organisiert wurde das Ganze aus dem ehrenamtlichen, altbewährten Team und engagierten Anwohnern und Freunden Baba und Moctar sowie einige Ehrengäste für das Finale und Preisverleihung eingeladen. Am zweiten Tag wurde das Finale zelebriert es gab sogar eine Modenschau von einem lokalen Designer und einen musikalischen Auftritt von dem Sänger Djeli Karim. Die Stimmung war super, viele Menschen vor allem Kinder und Jugendliche kamen aus der Nachbarschaft um zu zu gucken und ihre Lieblingsmannschaft anzufeuern. Die positive Auswirkung dieses Events konnte man deutlich spüren. Die Mannschaft „sans pitié“ hat gewonnen und wurde neben dem besten Spieler und bestem Torschützen geehrt. Das Fussballturnier ist für die Vereinsarbeit und für die Nachbarschaft jedes Jahr ein Highlight, neben den öffentlichkeitswirksamen Kulturfestival auch ein Event für die direkte Bevölkerung aus dem Viertel zu organsieren, bei dem es vor allem durch Sport und Begegnung darum geht, den sozialen Zusammenhalt und Gemeinschaft zu stärken.
Besuche und Vernetzungsarbeit 2024
Desweiteren nutzten wir die Zeit um die Aktivitäten des Vereins nicht nur im kulturellen Bereich und mit den Spendenaktionen voranzubringen, sondern auch auf politischer Ebene bekannt zu machen. In Ouagadougou konnten die Vereinsmitglieder aus Abdoul Aziz Sinka, Nora Palm und Mahamadi Sinka Audienzbesuche beim Kulturminister Mr. E. Ouedraogo, dem Geschäftsführer der deutschen Botschaft Hr. Münchow-Pohl und dem Leiter des Goethe – Instituts Hr. Pockrandt. Inhalt war meistens vor allem über die Aktivitäten der beiden Partnervereine zu berichten und die Idee für zukünftige Möglichkeiten einer Kooperation einzubringen.
Bobo Dioulasso Vernetzungsarbeit 2024
Auch in Bobo- Dioulasso konnten wir als Vereinsdelegation zusammen mit einigen Vertretern des Partnervereins Association Woka-Kuma die lokalen Autoritäten aus der Stadt besuchen.
Unter anderem ging es in das Rathaus des Bezirkes Nummer 7, mit dem wir seit Jahren eine Kooperation vor allem wegen des FESTICOs und verschiedensten Spendenaktion in den angehörigen Vierteln des Bezirkes pflegen. Der Bezirksbürgermeister bzw. der „President de la Delegation Speciale ( Vorsitzende der Spezialkommission, wie die Position seit dem letzten Regierungswechsel heißt) Mr Souleyman Sanon des Arrondissement Nr 7 empfing uns herzlich. Ebenfalls konnten wir den Bezirksbürgermeister des Bezirkes Nr.1 treffen, in dessen Viertel Kiri wir in den letzten Jahren einige Spendenaktion für z.B. die Krankenstation durchführen konnten und inzwischen auch ein Grundstück besitzen, auf dem das „Deutsch-Burkinische Kulturzentrum“ für Kulturaustausch, Bildung und Tanz entstehen soll. Ebenfalls waren wir erstmalig eingeladen bei dem Oberbürgermeister der Stadt „President de la Delegation Speciale de la Commune Bobo Dioulasso“ Laurent Kontogom, sowie bei dem traditionellen Chef des Viertels Belleville, der unsere Arbeit und Engagement sehr schätzt und immer mit Freunden zum Festival kommt.
FESTICO 2023: 25.02.-29.02.2023 Zum allererstem Mal hat das FESTICO nicht in dem Viertel Colsama stattgefunden, vor dem großen Stadion Lamezere sondern mitten in der Stadt – neben der Station Total nicht weit weg vom kleinen Markt. Dies hatte zum Effekt, dass sehr viele aus der unmittelbaren Nachbarschaft dara teilnehmen konnten. Das Gelände war voll und die Veranstaltung fand viel positives Feedback bei den Menschen – endlich ein Festival direkt nebenan, was zugänglich ist für die Menschen die dort wohnen und nicht durch die Stadt fahren können um Kultur zu genießen. Vor allem für Kinder und Jugendliche war es ein großes Highlight ihre Stars der Musik zu sehen – Djeli Karim, Rama N’goni aber auch die Zirkusgruppe von einem lokalen Zirkusverein der mit vulnerablen Jugendlichen arbeitet sind aufgetreten und sorgten für viel Stimmung. Auch die eingeladenen Autoritäten begrüßten den neuen Standort des FESTICOS, der chef coutumiére ( traditioneller Chef) des Quartiers freute sich besonders über die Bereicherung und kulturelle Darbietung in seinem Viertel. Zum Festival gehörten auch eine Podiumsdiskussion über die Herausforderungen und Verpflichtungen kultureller AKteur*innen angesichts der Sicherheitslage in Burkina Faso und ein Tanzworkshop für Erwachsene im Centre Siraba angeleitet durch Serges Somé.
FESTICO 2022: leider konnte das FESTICO aufgrund der politischen Lage nach zwei aufeinanderfolgenden Staatsreichen und der Sicherheitskrise nicht stattfinden.

FESTICO 2024 : Delegation trip to Burkina Faso 2024
From 25 February to 10 March, a total of 4+1 association members (Heike Schaaf, Nora Palm, Christoph Koch, Aziz Sinka + Birgit Barz) travelled to Bobo Dioulasso to visit the partner festival FESTICO and our local cooperation partners.
We all had a great time together and were able to pursue some of the organisation’s activities
Cultural festival FESTICO 01.03.-02.03.
As every year, the cultural festival took place in arrondissement no. 7 / Belleville. Two days of concerts, shows and performances enlivened the square set up for the event, the seats were full of people from the neighbourhood, especially many young people and children eager to see their favourite musicians live. There were some invited authorities such as the traditional chiefs of the neighbourhood, the district mayor and the mayor and a representative of the Ministry of Culture, who took the floor on the first evening with speeches of thanks and greetings. The highlights were the performances by Rama N’goni and Faity Baby, both of whom had already performed at the Woka-Kuma Festival in Berlin. We can only congratulate the organising team of the Woka-Kuma Burkina Faso Association on this beautiful and important festival. Because although the country is challenged by war, security problems and a tense political situation, as is so often mentioned in speeches and the media by the authorities, it is all the more important to support the population and internally displaced persons.
Football tournament Belleville Cup 2024 02.03. and 03.03. 2024
On 02.03. and 03.03., a total of 6 teams of young people from different neighbourhoods in the city competed against each other in the fourth edition of the ‘Belleville Cup’. The whole thing was organised by the volunteer, tried-and-tested team and dedicated residents and friends Baba and Moctar, as well as some guests of honour invited for the final and prize-giving ceremony. On the second day, the finale was celebrated and there was even a fashion show by a local designer and a musical performance by the singer Djeli Karim. The atmosphere was great, many people, especially children and young people, came from the neighbourhood to watch and cheer on their favourite team. The positive impact of this event could clearly be felt. The team ‘sans pitié’ won and was honoured alongside the best player and top scorer. Every year, the football tournament is a highlight for the association’s work and for the neighbourhood, which, in addition to the high-profile cultural festival, also organises an event for the local population from the neighbourhood, where the main aim is to strengthen social cohesion and community through sport and encounters.
Visits and networking 2024
We also used the time to promote the organisation’s activities not only in the cultural field and with fundraising campaigns, but also to raise awareness at a political level. In Ouagadougou, the association members Abdoul Aziz Sinka, Nora Palm and Mahamadi Sinka were able to pay audience visits to the Minister of Culture, Mr E. Ouedraogo, the Managing Director of the German Embassy, Mr Münchow-Pohl, and the Director of the Goethe Institute, Mr Pockrandt. The main purpose of these visits was to report on the activities of the two partner organisations and to introduce the idea of future opportunities for cooperation.
Bobo Dioulasso 2024
We were also able to visit the local authorities in Bobo Dioulasso as an association delegation together with some representatives of the partner association Association Woka-Kuma.
Among other things, we went to the town hall of district number 7, with which we have been cooperating for years, mainly because of the FESTICO and various fundraising campaigns in the neighbourhoods belonging to the district. We were warmly welcomed by the district mayor or the ‘President de la Delegation Speciale’ (Chairman of the Special Commission, as the position has been called since the last change of government) Mr Souleyman Sanon of Arrondissement No 7. We were also able to meet the district mayor of district no. 1, in whose neighbourhood Kiri we have been able to carry out several fundraising campaigns in recent years, e.g. for the infirmary and now also own a plot of land on which the ‘German-Burkinese Cultural Centre’ for cultural exchange, education and dance is to be built. We were also invited for the first time by the mayor of the city ‘President de la Delegation Speciale de la Commune Bobo Dioulasso’ Laurent Kontogom, as well as by the traditional chief of the Belleville neighbourhood, who greatly appreciates our work and commitment and always comes to the festival with friends.
FESTICO 2023: 25.02.-29.02.2023 For the very first time, the FESTICO did not take place in the Colsama district, in front of the large Lamezere stadium, but in the middle of the city – next to the Total station, not far from the small market. This meant that many people from the immediate neighborhood were able to take part. The area was full and the event received a lot of positive feedback from the people – finally a festival right next door that is accessible to the people who live there and can’t drive through the city to enjoy culture. Especially for children and young people it was a great highlight to see their music stars – Djeli Karim, Rama N’goni but also the circus group from a local circus association working with vulnerable young people performed and created a great atmosphere. The invited authorities also welcomed the new location of the FESTICOS, the chef coutumiére (traditional chief) of the neighborhood was particularly pleased about the enrichment and cultural performance in his neighborhood. The festival also included a panel discussion on the challenges and obligations of cultural actors in view of the security situation in Burkina Faso and a dance workshop for adults at the Siraba Center led by Serges Somé.
FESTICO 2022: unfortunately, the FESTICO could not take place due to the political situation after two successive empires and the security crisis.

FESTICO, Festival de Danse et de Musique traditionnelles de Colsama à Bobo Dioulasso est organisé par Mahamadi & Abdoul Aziz Sinka, l’association WOKA KUMA et l’arrondissement n°7 de la ville.

Voyage de la délégation au FESTICO Burkina Faso 2024
Du 25 février au 10 mars, des membres de l’association (Heike Schaaf, Nora Palm, Christoph Koch, Aziz Sinka ) se sont rendus à Bobo Dioulasso pour visiter le festival partenaire FESTICO et nos partenaires de coopération sur place.
Nous avons passé un bon moment tous ensemble et avons pu nous adonner à quelques activités associatives.
Festival culturel FESTICO 01.03.-02.03.
Comme à chaque fois, le festival culturel s’est déroulé dans l’arrondissement n°7 / Belleville. Deux jours de concerts, de spectacles, de performances ont animé la place aménagée à cet effet, les sièges étaient pleins de gens du quartier, surtout beaucoup de jeunes et d’enfants, impatients de voir leurs musiciens* préférés en live. Quelques autorités invitées étaient présentes, comme le chef traditionnel du quartier, le maire de l’arrondissement et le maire de la ville, ainsi qu’un représentant du ministère de la culture, qui ont pris la parole le premier soir pour remercier et saluer les participants. Les prestations de Rama N’goni et Faity Baby, qui avaient déjà participé au festival Woka-Kuma à Berlin, ont été le point fort de la soirée. Nous ne pouvons que féliciter l’équipe organisatrice de l’association Woka-Kuma Burkina Faso pour ce beau et important festival. En effet, bien que le pays soit confronté à la guerre, aux problèmes de sécurité et à une situation politique tendue, comme le mentionnent si souvent les discours et les médias des autorités, il est d’autant plus important de soutenir la population et les personnes déplacées à l’intérieur du pays.
Tournoi de football Belleville Cup 2024 02.03. et 03.03. 2024
Les 02.03 et 03.03, un total de 6 équipes de jeunes issus des différents quartiers de la ville ont pu s’affronter lors de la quatrième édition de la « Belleville Cup ». Le tout a été organisé par l’équipe bénévole de longue date et les habitants et amis engagés Baba et Moctar, ainsi que quelques invités d’honneur invités pour la finale et la remise des prix. Le deuxième jour, la finale a été célébrée et il y a même eu un défilé de mode d’un créateur local et une prestation musicale du chanteur Djeli Karim. L’ambiance était super, beaucoup de gens, surtout des enfants et des jeunes, sont venus du quartier pour regarder et encourager leur équipe préférée. L’impact positif de cet événement a été clairement ressenti. L’équipe « sans pitié » a gagné et a été honorée aux côtés du meilleur joueur et du meilleur buteur. Chaque année, le tournoi de football est un moment fort pour le travail de l’association et pour le voisinage. Outre les festivals culturels à forte visibilité, il s’agit d’organiser un événement pour la population directe du quartier, où il s’agit avant tout de renforcer la cohésion sociale et la communauté par le biais du sport et des rencontres.
Visites et travail de mise en réseau 2024
Par ailleurs, nous avons profité de cette période pour faire avancer les activités de l’association non seulement dans le domaine culturel et avec les collectes de fonds, mais aussi pour les faire connaître au niveau politique. A Ouagadougou, les membres de l’association Abdoul Aziz Sinka, Nora Palm et Mahamadi Sinka ont pu rendre des visites d’audience au ministre de la culture M. E. Ouedraogo, au directeur de l’ambassade d’Allemagne M. Münchow-Pohl et au directeur du Goethe Institut M. Pockrandt. Il s’agissait surtout de rendre compte des activités des deux associations partenaires et d’introduire l’idée de futures possibilités de coopération.
Bobo Dioulasso 2024
A Bobo-Dioulasso également, nous avons pu, en tant que délégation de l’association et avec quelques représentants de l’association partenaire Association Woka-Kuma, rendre visite aux autorités locales de la ville.
Entre autres, nous nous sommes rendus à la mairie de l’arrondissement numéro 7, avec laquelle nous coopérons depuis des années, notamment pour le FESTICO et les différentes actions de dons dans les quartiers affiliés de l’arrondissement. Nous avons été chaleureusement accueillis par le maire de l’arrondissement 7, M. Souleyman Sanon, président de la délégation spéciale depuis le dernier changement de gouvernement. Nous avons également pu rencontrer le maire de l’arrondissement n°1, dans le quartier de Kiri duquel nous avons pu mener ces dernières années plusieurs actions de collecte de fonds, notamment pour le dispensaire, et où nous possédons désormais un terrain sur lequel doit être construit le « Centre culturel germano-burkinabé » pour les échanges culturels, l’éducation et la danse. Nous avons également été invités pour la première fois par le maire de la ville « Président de la Délégation Spéciale de la Commune Bobo Dioulasso » Laurent Kontogom, ainsi que par le chef traditionnel du quartier de Belleville, qui apprécie beaucoup notre travail et notre engagement et vient toujours au festival avec des amis.
FESTICO 2023 : 25.02.-29.02.2023 Pour la toute première fois, le FESTICO n’a pas eu lieu dans le quartier de Colsama, devant le grand stade de Lamezere, mais en plein centre-ville – à côté de la station Total, non loin du petit marché. Cela a eu pour effet de permettre à un grand nombre de personnes du voisinage immédiat d’y participer. Le site était plein et l’événement a reçu de nombreux échos positifs de la part des gens – enfin un festival juste à côté, accessible aux gens qui vivent là et qui ne peuvent pas traverser la ville pour profiter de la culture. Les enfants et les jeunes en particulier ont été ravis de voir leurs stars de la musique – Djeli Karim, Rama N’goni mais aussi le groupe de cirque d’une association de cirque locale qui travaille avec des jeunes vulnérables se sont produits et ont mis beaucoup d’ambiance. Les autorités invitées ont également salué le nouvel emplacement du FESTICOS, le chef coutumier du quartier s’est particulièrement réjoui de l’enrichissement et des représentations culturelles dans son quartier. Le festival comprenait également une table ronde sur les défis et les obligations des acteurs culturels face à la situation sécuritaire au Burkina Faso et un atelier de danse pour adultes au Centre Siraba, animé par Serges Somé.
FESTICO 2022 : malheureusement, le FESTICO n’a pas pu avoir lieu en raison de la situation politique après deux empires successifs et de la crise sécuritaire.
